W520 Standards and Reflections
Standard 1- Visionary Leadership
Coaches inspire and participate in the development and implementation of a shared vision for the comprehensive integration of technology to promote excellence and support transformational change throughout the instructional environment.
Standard 1.A
Contribute to the development, communication, and implementation of a shared vision for the comprehensive use of technology to support a digital-age education for all students
Technology Plan- Here is the link for the technology plan I came up with for CCHS. This shows the vision for the future use and support of technology in the classroom for students and teachers.
Committee- For the last year I have been on a district committee to evaluate our student management system. We started by making a list of things we need/want in a program. We are looking for ways to improve our current student management system and also look at other products if our current system can not do everything we need it to do.
Standard 1.B
Contribute to the planning, development, communication, implementation, and evaluation of technology-infused strategic plans at the district and school levels
Needs Assessment- The following link is the needs assessment I wrote. Before writing the plan I sent out a survey to all of the teachers and staff at CCHS. I also followed up with each department on their needs and usage of technology. This plan shows how we will continue to improve upon the technology and strategies we already have in place.
Committee- For the last year I have been on a district committee to evaluate our student management system. We started by making a list of things we need/want in a program. We are looking for ways to improve our current student management system and also look at other products if our current system can not do everything we need it to do.
Standard 1.C
Advocate for policies, procedures, programs, and funding strategies to support implementation of the shared vision represented in the school and district technology plans and guidelines
Acceptable Use Policy- Here is the link to the evaluation of our current acceptable use policy. This shows that I have thought about our current policy and know how to change and re-write an AUP if needed at CCHS.
Funding Technology Project- Here is a the link to show that I know how to get started in the grant writing process to fund some of the programs we may try to implement at CCHS.
Stakeholder Project- Here is the link to a video I created to share my vision to parents on how I plan to use Google Classroom in my class this school year.
Standard 1.D
Implement strategies for initiating and sustaining technology innovations and manage the change process in schools and classrooms
Technology Interview- Here is a link to an interview I did with Jim Alexander. He is the Systems Administrator for our district. Doing this interview allowed me to see how the corporation manages and makes changes to the technology in our buildings and classrooms.
Ipad Trial- Last year I asked the corporation if I could get an Ipad in my classroom. A few teachers already had one but once I asked for it and gave the reasons why it would be beneficial for my classroom, our entire department was able to get one. I was in charge of finding apps and coming up with uses for it in the classroom. We are now currently looking into getting every teacher an Ipad for their classroom.
Standard 3- Digital Age Learning Enviroments
Technology coaches create and support effective digital age learning environments to maximize the learning of all students.
Standard 3.D
Select, evaluate, and facilitate the use of adaptive and assistive technologies to support student learning
Adaptive/Assistave Needs Assessment- The following link is an evaluation of the Adaptive/Assistive Technology that we currently use at my school district.
Explain Everything- This is a link to an app I have started to use in my classroom and have collaborated with other teachers on it's use in the classroom to differentiate instruction and to use as an assisstive tool. This app allows you to record your lectures as you present them or to pre-record lessons. This allows students to go back and re-watch lectures at their own pace. They can pause, fast-forward, and rewind.
Standard 3.F
Collaborate with teachers and administrators to select and evaluate digital tools and resources that enhance teaching and learning and are compatible with the school technology infrastructure
Product Proposal- This is a link to a product proposal I did. I collaborated with teachers to see how they liked our student laptops and what we could replace them with to enhance our classrooms. We came up with the idea to have convertible laptops. These are laptops that also will function as a tablet.
Committee- For the last year I have been on a district committee to evaluate our student management system. We started by making a list of things we need/want in a program. We are looking for ways to improve our current student management system and also look at other products if our current system can not do everything we need it to do.
Standard 4- Professional Development and Program Evaluation
Technology coaches conduct needs assessments, develop technology-related professional learning programs, and evaluate the impact on instructional practice and student learning.
Standard 4.A
Conduct needs assessments to inform the content and delivery of technology-related professional learning programs that result in a positive impact on student learning
Needs Survey- This is a link to the survey I sent out to the entire staff at my school. With this survey, I was able to see the vast array of tools we are using in the classroom. I was also able to see what types of technology teachers still wanted or needed to help them best engage our students.
Classroom Survey- This is a link to a survey I sent out to my students after flipping my class for two weeks. I sent this out to gather information on what students thought about the program and what they would need in the future to make it more successful.
Standard 6- Content Knowledge and Professional Growth
Technology coaches demonstrate professional knowledge, skills, and dispositions in content, pedagogical, and technological areas as well as adult learning and leadership and are continuously deepening their knowledge and expertise.
Standard 6.C
Regularly evaluate and reflect on their professional practice and dispositions to improve and strengthen their ability to effectively model and facilitate technology enhanced learning experiences
